Since I’ve moved over to a self hosted blog I’ve made the decision to monetize it to try and offset the cost of hosting and upgrading and such (also, I’m in college, so I’m pretty much always broke). So here are some of the affiliate programs that I’m planning to use and that I think you guys might be interested in as well. Some of them are just plain ol’ cash back rewards for buying stuff online!!
I’m going to add this post to the top of my blog, that way you can access it anytime. And I will be updating it as I go!
Become an Affiliate
Here are some of my favorite sites for joining affiliate programs.
This is one of my favorite ways to set up affiliate links. Its super easy and quick, and has lots of sites you can apply to be affiliated with. Below are some examples of stores you can link to through them.
Full Disclosure: If you sign up through my link, I get a referral bonus.
This is probably the most popular of all the affiliate programs.
Save Money Online
Honey is the backbone of my online money saving. They not only automatically find coupons when I’m checking out, they also provide cash back on basically everything (even Etsy!)
Full disclosure: I get $5 if you sign up and make a purchase through one of their deals. This can even be a purchase that you were gonna make anyway (Etsy, Jo Anns, and even Papa John’s Pizza have Honey deals) and it costs you nothing! It will probably even save you money.
This is a lot like Honey, and I’m newer to it, but so far it’s basically just as awesome. You just add it to your browser and shop, then you get cash back on what you’re buying. It also has an in-store cash back program!
Full disclosure: If you use my link above, I’ll get a small bonus when you sign up and spend $25. But you also get ten free dollars, and since you can use it on any site from Amazon to Ebay, it’s pretty awesome.
This one is like a combination of Honey and a cash for survey site. It’s not quite as nice as Honey (for the way I use the internet), but it definitely doesn’t hurt to have it running.
Full disclosure: I get a bonus if you sign up using this link.
This one doesn’t actually give you cashback, and I’m not getting anything for promoting it, but I had to give it a mention just because of how awesome it is: a portion of the money you save goes to charity.
This are all services that I use to run my blog.
I think Tailwind is the most useful site I’ve found so far. No joke.
Full disclosure: For me to get $15 all you have to do is use my link to sign up, then “upgrade to plus” and choose the one month subscription which you get for free. It does want credit card information, and it will send a one dollar mini-charge (but it does credit it back) and then you can just cancel your subscription and never have to pay a cent.
This is by far the most used app on my phone right now. I can link all my accounts – Paypal, all three Etsy shops, my debit card – through it and easily track my spending and mark what’s going to my small business. Then at tax time it helps me file and get as much back as possible.
Full disclosure: If you sign up through my link, I get a reward.
This means that if I post a link to a book on Book Depository and you purchase it I will receive a small commission in exchange for the ‘advertisement.’ This is at no extra cost to you.
This is also the first ever affiliate link I’ve signed up for.
I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255: “Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising.”
