I spotted this tag over on The Calico Books, and I knew I had to steal it for my first day of Blogmas!
Do you have a favorite winter read?
Do I ever!! I’m down for any and every version of the Nutcracker. I’ve the original several times, as well as the translation by Alexander Dumas (who wrote, The Count of Monte Cristo, one of my favorite classic books).
Find a book with a blue cover
Find a book you’d use as the star on the Christmas tree!
Something Tolkien with the Star of Feanor or a Silmaril on the cover. I think the image on this book is some sort of weird mashup of several of the Sigils Tolkien made for his characters, but I’m honestly not sure what’s happening.
One fictional place that would be perfect for a winter vacation!
Pick one fictional character you’d take with you on your winter vacation!
Remus Lupin! I’m still sad that I didn’t get to be him in my Fall Book Tag (for obvious reasons), so I’ll take him on vacation with me. Bonus: he comes with lots of sweaters!
Raise your hand if you still feel personally victimized every time David Thewlis plays a villain because HE’S REMUS LUPIN DAMNIT. Aka I saw Dinotopia when I was five and I’m still traumatized, largely because that trauma was reawakened by Wonder Woman.
I have a conspiracy that I shall eventually post in full that Wonder Woman and Dinotopia are the same movie.
Also: Can we talk about the Japanese covers of Harry Potter? -adds this to the reasons I’m taking Japanese as my Foreign Language Credit-
Name one book on your wishlist this year.
I really love illustrated books, and I’d die for either one of these Harry Potter books to join my collection.
Favorite holiday drink, treat, and movie?
Drink: Hot chocolate. Usually I buy Nestle because its cheapest, but my true love is rich, dark, and creamy.
Treat: Well, its now officially these Peppermint Spoons WHICH I HAVE NOT SEEN BEFORE TODAY HOW HAS THIS NOT BEEN A THING IN MY LIFE. Seriously. I’m ordering all the peppermint spoons.
Movie: A Nutcracker Scoob, which according to Amazon is only available on VHS, but I know that to be FALSE because I recently upgraded my copy to DVD after I literally burnt out the tape.
Don’t judge me.
Who do you tag?
Anyone who’s doing Blogmas!
