Since winter is upon us, with the cold air outside and dry air from heaters inside, I thought I would post about my most-used skin care products. These are things that I really love and have bought over and over.
Shea Moisture is probably my favorite skincare brand of all time. I discovered it when I was looking for African Black Soap after being told it was good for eczema (I personally haven’t had a severe outbreak since I started using it), and because Walgreens was running a “buy one get one 50% off” offer on the entire brand I also tried a Ginger Body Oil. Since then I’ve tried several other things by this brand, and I’ve yet to be disappointed.
This product is cute AND super useful. I suffer from allergy-induced swelling under my eyes, and on top of that, I spend a lot of time looking at screens. So when I saw this recommended ages ago on a Buzzfeed post, I knew I had to try it out.
I use coconut oil for pretty much everything. Whenever I do a DIY beauty item, or if I just want a quick moisturizer. Even with my eczema, I’ve never had a break out because of coconut oil.
Not only is this a great spot treatment for acne, but I also mixed it into a DIY scar treatment cream that I made for the scar on my neck from my hemithyroidectomy (translation: half my thyroid gland was removed).
This is my favorite lip balm because its handy to carry around with me, and it lasts forever. Plus, it makes my lips feel super soft (and its easy to restock once I’m out because you can get it pretty much anywhere).
This stuff is so relaxing and I use it so much I honestly asked for some for Christmas. It goes on smoothly and feels very cooling, and it barely takes any to coat my face, so it lasts for a long time.
