Meet The Blogger
Boring formalities aside, I’m an absurdly hyperactive person who blogs about a little bit of everything. I suppose that makes me a lifestyle blogger, but I prefer to be called a hodgepodge. It’s a much more fun word. Say it five times fast.
My name – as if I didn’t put it on every page of the blog – is Camryn Daytona. I’ve been blogging since 2015, and it’s one of my favorite activities. Outside of blogging I also enjoy reading, arts and crafts, and playing with my pets. In case you were wondering, I have three indoor cats, two outdoor, a dog, and two leopard geckoes. My house is practically a bonafide zoo!
I was diagnosed with depression in January of 2017, but I’ve been struggling with extreme anxiety – and trying very hard not to be diagnosed with depression – since middle school. Since I’m now almost 20, that’s a long time. I’ve tried pretty much every means of treatment, and that’s what I blog about. I believe that no one knows exactly what someone is going through, and that the best way to treat mental health is with the help of a doctor or therapist. As I am not a mental health professional (real talk: I’m not even that great at my own, sometimes), I can’t provide diagnosis or treatment. I just want to give people a bit of hope, by showing them how far I’ve come and letting them realize that living is possible.
My true passion is writing, I have dozens of journals filled with maps, half-baked stories, character charts, and even a dozen-odd languages I’ve created. I set out to write about books, but someone I ended up talking just as much about mental health, so I’ve decided to combine the two, and write about my own life experiences, and be truthful and honest about what it’s like to live with depression.
